Conducting a background check
In a background check, our information-gathering professionals comprehensively investigate an individual's background from various sources. We report any critical findings and the overall results of the background check to the employer.
During the background check, additional assessments such as a background interview and a psychological test may be recommended. These additional evaluations can provide deeper insights into the candidate's suitability and risks for the organization and specific role, enhancing the overall recruitment strategy.
The background check process is a critical aspect of hiring that not only protects the organization but also ensures that candidates are evaluated fairly and comprehensively. By adhering to a structured process, employers can make informed decisions that contribute to a more effective and responsible hiring practice.
The outcome of the background check is a complrehensive report to support the hiring or HR process.
Steps of the background check
Application
The initial step in the background check process is the application. Employers can initiate a background check on a candidate through our online platform or by submitting a written request. This flexibility allows for a streamlined approach to gathering necessary information.
Briefing call
A briefing call with the client enables the definition of any risk factors related to the role and work environment. This ensures that all relevant factors are considered during the background checks.
Gathering of information
Once the application is submitted, the next phase involves the distribution of preliminary information forms. These forms are crucial as they require the candidate (auditee) to provide personal details that will facilitate the background check. Additionally, the sponsor, usually the employer or hiring manager, must complete a separate preliminary information form specific to the position being filled. This dual-form approach ensures that all relevant data is available to conduct the background check.
Background check
Upon receipt of the completed forms, a comprehensive and profound background check is conducted. This may include but is not limited to the verification of employment history, education credentials, criminal records, financial information, and other pertinent information. The background process is based on the extensive knowledge of our team.
Interview and Risk Assessment
An interview including a Personal Risk Assessment can be part of the background check either by request of the organization or by our recommendation based on the findings of the background check.
Summary
After the background check is completed, a summary of the background check is shared with the client. The summary may include a recommendation to perform an interview or other further research. This is based on the findings of the background check and is intended to guide the employer in making informed decisions about potential hires and next steps.
Feedback
In addition to the written report, an oral feedback discussion is typically conducted with the recruiter. This discussion allows for a more nuanced understanding of the candidate's profile and addresses any concerns that may have arisen during the background check process.
